Went fishing for the first time in ages today. I'm not a prolific catcher of fish and really don't mind sitting on the bank doing nothing just watching nature happening, but if you don't have a rod with you you look like a bit of a dick.
I did catch 1 fish and thought I'd have a crack at catching a big un. I had thrown some bread on the surface and watched as a big carp took it under, so I decided to use the floating bread technique. It did work a couple of times and I did manage to feel the heavy bend of my rod but each time it got away. However Kerrys dad who is a much more experienced fisherman did catch the big carp (after I had tired it out for him!)
