Thomas

Darwin is currently most excited about Thomas the Tank Engine and to be honest I’m quite impressed myself.  He wasn't about when I was a lad so I’m privy to the magic for the first time.  And his enthusiasm for trains extends beyond Thomas.  Whenever a train appears on TV he gets excited.  Or even if he sees steam, be it from the boiler or the factory on the way to swimming, he will let out a little ‘choo choo’.

So on Saturday afternoon we made our way down to Irwell Vale to see a real steam train.  The bottom of the valleys were engulfed in a freezing fog but on the summits it was beautiful.  It was quite a magical hour.
