The Rijks Museum

So after a morning of being in the darker side of Amsterdam what better way to leap out of it than a trip to the Rijks Museum?

I’ve already championed Rembrandt in this blog and the Rijks is the good place to see works by the man.  But there are many other superstars that have work on show, notably:

George Hendrik Breitner whose Singel Bridge work reminds me of a street photographers shot.
Jan Veths portrait of Albert Verwey.
The truly magnificent ‘Windmill on a Polder Waterway’ by Paul Joseph Constantin Gabriel.
Still life works by Georgius Jacobus Johannes van Os.

And I haven’t even mentioned Vermeer, Gogh, Israels, Steen, Asselijn, Hals & Avercamp!
