Day 5 - Egypt

22.04.11

We visited another temple this morning at Kom Ombo. I expected someone to say, "erm, just one more question", but no-one did! (Columbo\Kom Ombo!!!)

After that we were left to our own devices on the boat as we set sail to Luxor. We sunbathed again. As we passed through a Nile lock we were attacked by wannabe pirate traders. 3 paddle boats appeared and attached themselves to this 72m Nile cruise boat travelling at 18Km an hour and without any fear at all. Once attached they shouted at the passengers throwing up towels, carpets and rugs, some of them not reaching their target and falling into the river. Once we were in the lock they disembarked their boats and climbed on to the lock side. There was about 30 minutes of trading and the NY stock exchange probably doesn't sound half as busy as this did. I enjoyed it. Someone called me Ali Baba, cheeky bastard!
