We had a talk by Seba Kurtis today and I enjoyed it. He's is bit of a swearer and that added to my enjoyment. Seba originates from Argentina and between Manchester and there he has been an illegal immigrant and possesses interesting stories teamed with his own style of photography along the way.
He's quite passionate about his subjects and together with his assistant or photographic partner Zuzana (or wife or girlfriend, I didn't ask!) he was very encouraging to all. We had a little chat afterwards and I think he may have encouraged me to do something with the military portraits. Like he said, "even if it's shit it might lead you somewhere else".
