Doing It in Front of Others
I like the May Bank Holidays. There’s a whole load of crazy shit that goes
on, morris dancers, blacking up, cheese rolling, dancing round a pole (not a
polish man!) (although that wouldn’t surprise me), people jumping off bridges
and a whole host of other wacky shit.
The pagans were a right fun bunch and then when the Christians came and
tried to Christianise the festivals they made them miserable, Wankers!
Today we took the train to Ramsbottom. Darwin seemed a little more aware of his
surroundings today and enjoyed looking out of the window as the train tooted
along and once again we rode for free! It
was a Thomas the Tank Engine day today and the train was full of kids.
This holds a tiny bit of guilt for Kerry and I as one time
we were walking the route along the railway and we decided to have a bit of “rumpy
pumpy”. We got off the beaten track and
on the railway siding we got down to it.
We heard the train coming but didn’t fret, indeed a little exhibitionism
added to the excitement, but how were we to know it was Thomas the Tank Engine
day? We were expecting the train to
whizz past and possibly someone may see us and think, “Was that 2 people
just... no it couldn’t have been”, not for the train to simply plod past filled
with kids waving out of the window.
We took a slow walk back.
Darwin occasionally likes to ride on the back of his trike chariot style
but I don’t think he’s quite ready for it yet.
Last time his feet got in the way of the wheels and this time he fell
off into a muddy puddle. Once we cleaned
him up he was fine and we stopped by the swings to cheer him up on the way
back. He fell asleep in his bike on the
way back.
