Danny and the Summer Fair

It was the return of Sedbergh Summer Fair this year after it had been put to one side for a couple of years. The fair starts with a fancy dress parade where anyone can join and this year the theme was books. Darwin and I had recently read Danny Champion of the World again so I dressed Darwin as Danny, and he looked a picture, and I dressed as his dad. We both had paper bags with ‘Raisins’ written on the side and I filled the bags with sweets to hand out to the kids.

The fancy dresses were judged and Darwin won! He got a rosette thing and a £15 voucher for sweets at the sweet shop. I nearly had a tear in my eye.
