The Monkey Bars

I made some monkey bars for Darwin the other day to put in the wood. He likes monkey bars.

I did assess him physically regarding how wide apart to put the bars and then I added a few inches. I wanted the bars to be challenging.

When I erected the bars and he tried them out for the first time he lost his stuff! “I can’t do them” he cried, and “Can you add another bar Daddy?” was the review. I knew that all that was required was a little effort, and even though I nearly succumbed to his request I refused to do it. I didn’t want them to be easy.

After 2 days he eventually did it and now does it faster than any of the other kids that have tried it. He even complains that it’s too easy now.
