Week 3 - Beauty in the Mundane

19th Nov - So because I was away during the week I had to concentrate my efforts on capturing an image of the beautifully mundane in Iceland. For a foreigner it's quite easy to spot, as what is perfectly ordinary to the locals can be quite extraordinary to those that have never been there before. For me it was the fire hydrants. Most of our fire hydrants are hidden away beneath the ground, it wouldn't surprise me if the Victorians found them too phallic and decided to hide them away to avoid causing embarrassment. The Icelanders are proud of their hydrants and take good care of them. This was my image for the week.
