Paying the Ferryman contactlessly through the car window

We went on our first non-local trip out today in a while. Everyone is being asked to wear face masks and stay at least 2m away from other folk and it’s good to be out. I tell you what, there’s no way any cuts on my hands are ever going to get septic during this pandemic. I’m squirting my hands with alcohol about 8 times a day and feeling it every time if ever I have a cut.

We went to Grizedale forest with the dogs. On the ferry over the lake the ferryman took the toll using contact-less card payment through the car window, which was novel!

There are some wide varying responses to the pandemic, at one end of the scale you have the conspiracists who believe Covid19 isn’t a real thing and that Bill Gates is using it as an opportunity to inject everyone who gets a vaccine with a chip (the man who came to sweep our chimney believes this!), right down to the extremely paranoid who will find it hard to ever leave the house again. These extremes will continue long after the situation normalises.
