B4RN

In years to come, if the internet still exists (it would be no surprised if the UK gets cut off after Brexit!), this will sound proper basic, but it excites me somewhat.

I currently have the fastest broadband speed that I have ever had and it averages out at about 12Mb/s. It does the job just about but it’s annoying when it cuts out without any reason. However, soon this will be replaced with B4RN and my speed will jump to nearly 1Gb/s.

In the Sedbergh area we have a lady who has been responsible for the deployment of the network. She’s a proper bossy so and so but without her I doubt we would be anywhere near the deployment levels we’re at. She’s in her 80’s and I can’t have anything but massive respect for her. She’s Gina Barney.

With the installation we have been responsible in laying the fibre from the hub to the house. Gina has coerced volunteers from the local community to come along with machinery and skills and now the router is in awaiting connection to the mainframe. I can’t wait!
