Robin and Batman

Kerry's Mother was 50 and she wanted a fancy dress party to celebrate.  We had received plenty of warning so had no excuses to not go as something spectacular.  As the busy lives we lead dictate what we do we ended up going as something mediocre at best due to time constraints.  Me and Piggy dressed as Batman and Robin and Kerry went dressed as a pirate kind of thing, imagine Adam Ant without the make up.

Initially we talked about something that would involve 'blacking up' (naturally) and something that consisted of 2 larger people and a midget, Piggy being the midget.  The cast from 'Different Strokes' was discussed, 'Musical Youth' (albeit there's 5 of them) or possibly something like 'Fantasy Island', but we ran out of time.

Initially it only felt right that Piggy would be Robin and I Batman until I realised that he actually knows who Batman is.  I should have been Robin!  I know this now and will amend my life to rectify such scenarios in the future.

Everyone made a proper effort and Pete & Chris quite rightly won first prize as Umpa Lumpas.

This was Darwin's first active family party.  He ran round like mental, skidded on the dance floor and fingered all of the buffet.  He even tucked into the Birthday cake way before it was acceptable.  And he ended the night dancing in his pyjamas.
