Dead Moles

We had a small detour to Arnside yesterday and whilst we were lost on a small country lane we came across the following sight, a string of dead moles.  I have seen this a number of times before and never understood what the purpose was.  Well apparently, the gamekeeper does this to prove to his clients that he's doing his job.

Whilst scouring the website "Thehuntinglife" I came across a comment in one of the forums that read:


"I think hanging is too good for them. Personally I prefer to bury them alive."
