If at first you don't succeed....
This is the 10th World Cup I remember, the first one being Argentina 1978. England didn’t qualify for that one, Scotland did though, and back in them days there were only 16 qualifying teams. I think that may have been an omen!
Let’s face it, we’re shit! And I don’t know why. Other teams have fantastic stars, gods of football, but we’re just a bunch of dicks really. And at least in other years we’ve managed to scrape through the group stages, in just 1 week since the kick off of the World Cup we might as well be on our way home.
So, I for one think that England should give up trying to win the World Cup or any international fixture. Disband the national side and let the players stay at home with their families during the summer months, and if they don’t have families let them dish soup out to the homeless or summat.

On a separate note, my old Regiment have appeared in 5 FA Cup finals and won it twice. I only found that out this morning, pride replacement!
