Calders, not the Calf
We don't go up the Howgills as often as we should but today we decided to climb the biggest of the Howgills, The Calf, and we decided to do it with Mouse and Ena.
The Howgills is great for nasty dogs like Mouse as it's very rare that you come across anyone, and it
makes it cheaper for me just in case he decides to rag someones new Gucci coat.
Darwin is quite good at mooching in the mountains now and doesn't winge half as much as he used to which is great.
As we transcended Arant Haw we continued on to The Calf, all by memory. And then the clouds came in, but that wasn't an issue because all we needed to do was say on the path and continue to climb. Eventually we came to a huge pile of rocks signifying either a summit or a burial, I assumed the former and I automatically assumed this was the summit of The Calf and didn't care if it wasn't.
When we returned home I checked the map to find it wasn't, and still didn't care. It was a peak I wasn't aware of called Calders. We'll have to do The Calf on another day.
