Worden Park

We met up with Emma and kids to have a mooch on Worden Park. The trains were on and it was summer.

I used to spend many hours on Worden Park. It has loads of different areas to play in, vast open fields, playgrounds, gardens & woods. There used to be a chap when we were young known to everyone as ‘Bummer Dooley’, I think he might have been a homeless man who lived in the park. Obviously he had become an urban legend amongst kids in the town and nowadays he would have been diagnosed and supported, but in them days he scared the life out of kids, and that made it even more exciting playing in the park!

We went on the train, played crazy golf, had a bit of a picnic and went on the play park and ran round the maze. It was a lovely afternoon and the park is going from strength to strength.
