Windy Winder
So after our recent conquest of Crook Darwin was keen to ascend Winder. Winder’s height exceeds Crook by a massive 12m standing at 473m high. And although the height is only slightly higher the distance was noticeably longer.
I took plenty to eat and drink and we rested whenever either of us said so. We talked nonsense lots but we also found educational things like a natural spring, cue water tables and a talk about the best place to drink from a stream, we studied the landscape and talked about glaciers and fossils, saw lots of little creatures and found some sheep wool and hence back to nonsense.
When we reached the high ridge between Winder and Arant Haw the wind was very powerful, it took our breath away but it was fun too and before we knew it we were on top of the hill.
He makes me very proud and he makes me laugh a lot.
