Ass Peppers?

I saw this sign outside a farm shop at the weekend.  I wondered if it was a delicacy at first, like that coffee you can buy that has been eaten by a cat (Asian Palm Civet) (Kopi Luwak) or an elephant (Black Ivory Coffee) and subsequently shat out, or whether it was either for harse punishment or sexual pleasure. 

I didn't buy any!
