An Evening with The Halle
Pete came round to look after Piggy for the evening and Kerry and I had a rare evening out together. Darwin absolutely loves his Grandad and as soon as he entered the house Piggy was oblivious to us. The last image I captured of him before we went out looked like he was off to rob a bank. Well as long as he's happy and safe...
I’m a great appreciator of anything of fantastic quality. This evening Kerry and I went to see the Halle orchestra at the Bridgewater Hall in Manchester, both of which are magnificent in their representations of quality. The design of the hall is such to allow the most delicate of sounds to resonate throughout the hall, but when that sound is the Halle orchestra, holy shit! No media can recreate the quality of a grand orchestra played in an acoustically brilliant building.

The orchestra are spectacular, every musician is
awe-inspiring and the performance was simply enchanting. It’s funny because I think that most of the
instruments in the orchestra, if played in a solo styley, are pretty grim and I
would even say annoying, but bang them all together and played expertly, then
it’s the kind of sound you would imagine angels to produce.
Their performance of ‘A la Claire Fontaine’ was nothing
short of beautiful and it nearly made me cry.
