Nevermind
This weekend we had an underwater photo shoot with Britain’s
most qualified photographer. To be fair
it is himself claiming that fact but who am I to disbelieve him? I’m always reluctant to pay for photographs
but I don’t have underwater gear and I did like the album ‘Nevermind’ by
Nirvana.
We paid £35 up front for the session and then sat down to
view the images once the shoot was over.
You could pay £180 for 2 digital files on a USB stick if you so wished
but unfortunately Britain’s most qualified photographer only managed to capture
1 image of the boy that was worth having, and they didn’t sell only 1 digital
file. Sometimes the flashes failed to
trigger so he missed a couple of opportunities.
Maybe Britain’s most qualified photographer wasn’t using Britain’s best
photography equipment? We paid a further £45 for a 10 x 8 copy of the one image that was good.
I know I’m sounding cynical but in this day and age you don’t
need to be a photographer to do this kind of work, any old T, D or H can do it,
they just need the equipment. It’s a bit
like getting Michelangelo in to paint the bathroom ceiling. And the prices! They weren't as bad as Venture but they were
heading there.
All that aside the Waterbabies organisation, whom I was very
skeptical when we first joined, are a good organisation who provide a very
worthwhile service at a fair price.
