When I were a lad we all had toy guns, mostly reel fed cap guns, but later on came the louder individual plastic cap. And there were spud guns which stung, guns that fired plastic bullets that could take an eye out, guns that made sparks and replica guns that looked exactly like the real thing and weren't illegal.
I bought my nephew, Felix, a cap gun for his birthday and it caused a minor amount of swearing, and he became the talk of the school.
Nowadays you don't see many kids with guns, that is apart from my neighbours, and I quite like it.
