Himalayan Balsam

It can be a scary affair going walking with Kerry in the countryside.  She comes from the city and occasionally country ways will scare the shit out of her, she lets it be known in the form of very loud screams.  The other week whilst walking across a marsh I thought she had found human remains, it was a spider.

Todays scary find were the pods on a Himalayan Balsam.  When the pods are agitated they explode shedding their seeds up to 7m's away.  Kerry found this out by grabbing one and making it explode in her hand.  Loud screams followed.

I convinced her to grab them so I could photograph one exploding. It wasn't my intention to photograph the pod at all.
