Fireworks 2017
We went to 2 fireworks and bonfire displays again this year. Sedbergh fireworks didn’t happen, instead we drove down to Garsdale. This was lovely, very ‘community’. There were folk serving soup and selling parkin and other cakes, quite a lot of farming types and a big bonfire. There was space for the kids to run about and play safely and the fireworks were set off in a very manual style.
Then on the following Monday, like last year, Sedbergh School put on their display and put an open invite out to all us commoners. There’s more than a couple of boxes of Standards that goes into these mothers. Nevertheless it’s a most impressive display complete with massive bonfire and the kids from the school are very well behaved.
Both displays had their merits and I feel most fortunate to be living in such a splendid area.
